Introduction
Established in 1960, with over 60 years of development, Foreign Trade University (FTU) has gained enormous achievements in providing talented and high-quality human resources. FTU has 3 campuses in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Quang Ninh province.
With 53 undergraduate and graduate programs, FTU is offering a wide range of majors and specializations in economics, business, business administration, marketing, finance and banking, law, accounting – auditing, political science, computing and data science for economics and business, and business foreign languages. FTU stands out for offering an international environment where there is an astonishing diversity of flexible and broad-based programs offered in different languages coupled with leadership nurturing and preparing our students for an increasingly globalized world. FTU sets an objective to become a leading university in economics and business education and in innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, providing excellent products of education, research, and community services, and having a high rank in Asia.
Regarding research, FTU faculty members have been conducting a wide range of research projects funded by governments, national and international organizations, and enterprises. FTU has identified four leading research directions, i.e., socio-economic reform for sustainable development, innovation & knowledge transfer to businesses, green economy & social responsibility, and corporate governance restructuring & reform. Within these four research directions, research groups were established to conduct research programs funded by FTU with targets to enhance research capacity of researchers and faculty members and increase international publications. International collaboration in research has been actively promoted to conduct joint research, to co-organize annual international conferences such as VIID, VEAM, VICIF…, and to carry out joint publications. The research at FTU is conducted with an aim towards international standards, which has supported the improvement of education at both undergraduate and graduate levels at FTU. Active knowledge transfer to the central government, local authorities and particularly the business community characterizes FTU’s high-quality applied research.
