Associate Professor Pham Khanh Nam – Keynote speaker for VEAM 2025

We are honored to announce Associate Professor Pham Khanh Nam as one of our keynote speakers for the 16th Vietnam Economist Annual Meeting (VEAM 2025).

About Associate Professor Pham Khanh Nam

Dr. Pham Khanh Nam is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam. After earning his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2011, he went on to become the Rector of the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government. He also holds directorial positions at both the Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) and the Environment for Development Center in Vietnam (EfD-Vietnam).

Dr. Pham Khanh Nam’s research focuses on the quantitative analysis of environmental pollutants, offering valuable models and policy recommendations. He has consulted for international organizations like the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the IUCN on environmental policy reports for Vietnam. Notably, he is a member of the UN’s Beyond GDP expert group and holds the position of scientific secretary for the Economic Council of NAFOSTED.

Dr. Pham Khanh Nam has publications in many high-impact journals, including the Journal of Public Economics, Land Use Policy, Oxford Economic Papers, and the Journal of Development Studies, alongside numerous other advisory works.
